My name is Elizabeth and I am Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). Do you ever feel like things are just piling up around you and you can’t keep up? Or that you give, and give of yourself until there is nothing left to give? Do you find it difficult to put your own feelings and health at the top of your to-do list? If you do, you are not alone. The world around us moves at an unprecedented speed. Online platforms set unrealistic expectations that make all of these feelings so overwhelming.
I would love to help you navigate your way through your counselling journey and towards your personal goals. I believe in a person-centred, integrative approach to psychotherapy. I believe in finding the counselling approach that fits the client’s needs as opposed to forcing the client to fit into the guidelines of a one-sized-fits-all approach. My therapeutic strengths are in Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy but I will happily dig into evidence-based research to find the therapeutic approach that will best meet your needs. We are in this together!

I have always had a passion for helping others and that is what led me to the field of developmental services. For the past 13 years, I have supported people with autism, developmental disorders and dual diagnoses. I am also the sibling of a person on the autism spectrum. In my spare time, I like to read, walk with my dogs or attend live music events. I am also a foodie! Over the past few years I have been on a journey of health and healing and have discovered that I actually enjoy being active. I have been trying lots of new sports and activities and am always up for another.

The first thing we will do when we start working together is spend time developing our professional relationship. This will help me learn about you, your values, and your priorities. From there we will develop a plan of care based on your goals and desired outcomes for counselling.
My approach to psychotherapy is a cooperative one. I believe the client is the expert in their life and the counsellor is there as a collaborative guide to help you navigate and explore on your journey of growth.
