Individual Music Therapy in Guelph, Ontario
Individual Music Therapy for Youth & Adults
Sometimes life is hard - really hard. We believe everyone deserves a safe, non-judgemental space to navigate roadblocks and work towards building a fuller, more meaningful life. Therapy can provide opportunities to explore what you are feeling, receive support, and ultimately heal and grow. We recognize that traditional talk therapy may not work for you. Because of this, we also offer music therapy, which provides the opportunity to bring more than just words into your therapy sessions.
As Accredited Music Therapists, we are specially trained to incorporate music into sessions. Many of the reasons to pursue traditional therapy are the same reasons you come to music therapy. The main difference is that we can use music in some form to work towards your goals. How we do so depends on your goals, interests, and strengths — we can create the treatment plan that best suits you.

Benefits You’ll Find from Individual Music Therapy
Music therapy provides an opportunity to bring music's inherent therapeutic power into sessions.
Many people are already using music therapeutically in their life, potentially without realizing it. Have you ever turned to a music for a good cry, to relax you before sleep, or to give you the extra motivation to get something done? These are just a few examples. There is no musical background necessary to benefit from these services.
People we work with often say that music helps them put words to experiences, and helps express experiences without words. Finding new ways to feel heard and connected is a powerful thing. Incorporating music can also help you feel more comfortable with your therapist and the therapeutic process. It is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist!

Therapy Services in Guelph and Online
We offer both in-person therapy in Guelph, Ontario and online sessions for anyone located in Ontario. We offer affordable therapy options with our interns.
Online Music Therapy
KS Therapy Services offers both video and phone therapy. We recommend considering video options first, as this allows for the most natural communication and musical interactions. Many of the same things we would do during in-person music psychotherapy can be accomplished in Telehealth music therapy sessions. This includes verbal counselling, purposeful music listening and discussion, song-writing, and making music. There may be some limitations to live music-making depending on your own access to instruments.
This is an effective way to better your mental health and well-being creatively, from the comfort of your own home!
