Accepting New Clients

Has the cost of therapy been holding you back? Laurie offers affordable therapy and can support you with the issues listed below.

  • My name is Laurie (she/her) and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

I am passionate about working with individuals who may be encountering hurdles in their everyday lives due to depression, anxiety and/or trauma. I have a special interest in supporting parents – especially those raising children with disabilities or who are neurodivergent.

If you are looking to strengthen your sense of self and relationships I would be honoured to help. I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship, ensuring a space that is flexible, open, and tailored to your needs.

Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, I draw from various therapeutic modalities and philosophies to find what resonates best with you. I believe in your potential for growth, self-healing, and empowerment and take a holistic approach that sees you as a whole person, not just your struggles. Together, we will explore the methods that align with your goals, personality, and comfort level.

    • Master of Counselling Psychology (in progress)

    • Master of Arts

    • Bachelor of Arts

  • I am a single parent of two young adults with developmental disabilities and mental health issues. For over 20 years, I have been involved with the disability community and  find great fulfillment in supporting others on their journey, especially those who are experiencing challenging behaviours in their children. This passion led me to pursue a Master of Counselling Psychology.

I deeply value community and connection, whether through traditional family bonds or the support we build with chosen family and friends. In my free time, I enjoy walking my dog, playing games with my daughter, baking and spending quality time with loved ones.

  • My priority is to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and accepting space where you feel comfortable being yourself. I believe in moving at your pace, building a strong therapeutic relationship before exploring deeper personal experiences. My approach is relaxed, informal, and flexible, and we’ll work together as a team to identify your goals, priorities, and dreams—tackling them step by step. This is your journey, and I’m here to support and guide you whenever needed.

I take a client-centered approach, emphasizing your strengths and capacity for growth. Together, we’ll work on cultivating greater self-compassion, insight, and understanding of your personal and relationship patterns. I offer flexible session options—in person in Guelph, virtually, or a blend of both—to best suit your needs. I primarily work with adults in individual therapy.
